The Whale Festival is back, promising something for every taste. If you have a soft spot for nostalgia, this year's Whales and Wheels classic car event is for you.

Seeff Hermanus Presents: Whales and Wheels Classic Car Show

Seeff Hermanus is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Whales and Wheels Classic Car Show, set to rev up the excitement on September 30th at the Sandbaai Hall. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is just R20, and kids under 12 get in for free.

Captivating Parade and Dazzling Display

Prepare to be awed as a captivating parade featuring more than 25 classic beauties cruises through Hermanus CBD and back to the venue. Weather permitting, over 100 cars will be on display, including vintage, classic, sports, and new models. If you're a model car enthusiast, you'll also find a fantastic selection of model cars available for purchase.

Delicious Classic Eats and Nostalgic Tunes

Inside the hall, you'll be spoiled for choice with food stalls offering a delightful array of options, from calamari, curry & rice, hamburgers to Moroccan food, chicken wings, seafood and a cake & dessert stand with sweet treats to die for. To quench your thirst, there's a bar and ample seating where you can enjoy your delicious food while flipping through old car magazines thoughtfully placed on the tables.

Experience a trip down memory lane with a sound system playing the beloved tunes of the '60s and '70s on vinyl records, complete with that nostalgic crackle.

Family Fun and Cherished History

The Whales and Wheels Classic Car Show holds a special place in Hermanus's history, dating back to its inception behind the station building in 1999. The event was founded by the well-known motoring and TV presenter/journalist Alan Johnson and Thor Bovin, with the assistance of Oom Danie Loubser, a devoted Peugeot enthusiast.

Meet Roy Groenewald: A Classic Car Enthusiast

Get to know the man behind the wheel, Roy Groenewald, the current event organiser of this classic car extravaganza. Roy's passion for cars began at a young age when he attended a car parade in Hermanus CBD with his mother in the 1950s. His love for classic cars was further fueled when he met "Oom" Danie Loubser, who had driven a pristine Model T Ford in that very parade.

A Town of Cherished Memories

This year marks the 32nd Whale Festival, celebrating the annual return of majestic southern right whales to our safe waters for breeding. It's an event to remember in a town that holds many cherished memories.
