Hermanus Primary School is possibly the oldest school in Hermanus, starting as St. Peter's Church in 1868. The original stone building was built in 1907, and the school was officially declared a primary school from 1918, and additionally became a secondary school from 1921. The primary and secondary schools separated in 1952, and the senior school built behind Hoy's Koppie came into use as the new high school from 1977. Hermanus Primary School has a rich history, being an integral part of the community for many years. The school has wonderful facilities, including sports fields, a pavilion, a cloakroom, a gymnasium, tennis courts and a tuckshop.

Hermanus High School started with 60 learners in 1941 and has grown considerably since then, to 970 students. Today the school boasts high status for academics and sport - with facilities that include a gymnasium, six netball courts, four tennis courts, three rugby fields, two cricket pitches, three hockey fields, and an AstroTurf hockey field. Hermanus High School has an immense support network of local business owners and residents, which allows them to reach the heights that they do.

Curro Hermanus Independent School is a prestigious combined school offering parallel-medium schooling, from 4 months old to Grade 12. Their curriculum centres around development of critical thinking, problem-solving and important skills and values from a young age. Their small classes allow each learner to reap the benefit of individual attention. Teaching materials include interactive whiteboards, and fully equipped IT labs in both the Primary and High School. They have outstanding facilities which include an indoor swimming pool, hockey and soccer AstroTurf with floodlights and a dedicated music centre.

Northcliff House College started in the year 2000 with 5 learners and has grown to a consistent 150 learners from Grade R to 12. The school is currently one of the best performers in the Overberg District with a 100% National Senior Certificate pass rate (averaging 75% - 85%, a Bachelor's Degree pass) for the last 3 years. Northcliff House College follows the CAPS curriculum and specialises in small classes (about 12 learners per class) where individual attention tailored to the learner's ability can be provided.

Generation School is a through school (18 months to exit) offering a Montessori primary school, Cambridge high school and a vocational matric pathway (Eta, Business Studies, Computer Science and Applied Statistics). This easily opens up doors to study abroad.
